Revolutionary War Weekend
Lights, Camera, Revolution: The 1st Virginia at Mount Vernon
History didn’t just stay in the books in May—it comes to life on the hallowed grounds of George Washington’s home each year.
The 1st Virginia Regiment is honored to participate in the Revolutionary War Weekend at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, marking a pivotal moment in our nation's 250th Anniversary: the anniversary of Washington departing his estate to lead the Continental Army.
Behind the Scenes with WETA TV
We were thrilled to be featured in the WETA TV special, "Go Behind the Scenes at Mount Vernon." The segment captures our members in camp, on the march, and discussing the daily lives of the soldiers who served under Washington.

A 250-Year Legacy
Being part of the living history community during the Semiquincentennial (250th) of the United States is a profound experience. Standing where Washington stood, we helped commemorate the moment he left his private life behind to become the Commander-in-Chief.
It wasn't just a tactical demonstration; it was a tribute to the weight of leadership and the sacrifices of the common soldier.
